FOOD RECORDING BASICS

BASIC STUDY INFORMATION

Purpose: To determine the effect of recording food intake, using the Nutrition Analysis Tool, on various factors.  
Please note: We ask that participants willing to take part in this study not begin any weight loss program or change their current regimen until the study is completed on December 31, 2001.

Duration: 10 weeks - October 22, 2001 to December 31, 2001

Food Recording:  Study participants will be randomly assigned to a Group numbered 1 to 4 which differ based on how many days per week food intake is recorded.

Nutrition Analysis Tool: Participants will use the Nutrition Analysis Tool on the internet to record their food intake.

Benefits to Participants:  

  • Complete access to the newest version of the Nutrition Analysis Tool, "MyNAT," with the latest features free of charge...

    • Enter in your own special foods that are not in the NAT database of foods!  Just copy the info off of a nutrition label right into MyNAT!

      • The number you can have is unlimited!

    • Save time by saving frequently eaten foods as "Favorites!"

      • The number of favorites for participants is unlimited!

Email Contact:  You will receive an email...

  • with your Group assignment shortly after filling out the Pre-Study Questionnaire, 

  • notifying you to begin recording on the study start date,

  • once a week during the study to help remind you and encouraging you to continue your food recording assignment'

  • at the completion of the study with information regarding the findings of the study and how you can view that information when it becomes available.
